CarpoNovum has a new CEO

As of September 1st, Otto Drakenberg, the current Chairman of CarpoNovum, will also assume the role of CEO of the company. This move will streamline governance and fully align the organization behind a strengthened and highly skilled clinical team, committed to delivering our clinical strategy.

Current CEO Pär-Ola Larsson will take on the role of Vice CEO as of 1 September until he leaves for an assignment in another medical device company during the fall. We wish him good luck in his future endeavours and thank him for his contribution.

CarpoNovum AB has a new board

March 22, 2023, a new Board was elected. We are happy to introduce the following members and welcome them to CarpoNovum:

Chairman of the Board: Otto Drakenberg is a Stockholm based CEO and Board Chairman with extensive experience leading complex transformations in a range of industry sectors such as consumer goods, retail, consumer service and technology. Otto is the chairman of the board of Spendrups Brewery, Svegro and Sisjö Intressenter and was until 2022 Group CEO of Scandi Standard. His former operational roles include CEO of Carlsberg Sweden, Group CEO of the Nordic wine and liquor group Arcus, Chairman of the Board and leader of the reconstruction and sale of the retail chain Twilfit, Group CEO of Moment Group.

Boardmember: Lars Johansson Brings 30 years of experience from the medtech and pharmaceutical industry, including 13 years as General Manager for Johnson & Johnson in the Nordics. Lars has a track record of being an extraordinary leader and his experience covers all strategic and operational aspects of bringing innovative treatments to patients.

Boardmember: Björn Olsen Professor and Senior Consultant of Infectious Diseases since 2007 at Uppsala University and Academic Hospital. Olsen's scientific publication has (2022) according to Google Scholar over 15,000 citations and an h-index of 60. He is also an ornithologist and expert in bird-borne diseases, including bird flu. In 2010, he published the book "Pandemic". Olsen was the summer host 2006 and 2020 at one of the Swedish radio channels.

We are happy to announce that we have an AR in the UK!​

CarpoNovum AB is a registered manufacturer in the UK. This means that we are introducing our innovative anastomotic device on the Great Britain Market.​

The registration is made through the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, MHRA.​

We are currently building a clinical study program with prominent centers in the UK. If you are based in the UK and interested in learning more about our devices, participating in clinical studies, becoming a certified surgeon or other collaboration – Let us know!
